Groups pressure EPA to consider affordability in clean water regs It is time for the Environmental Protection Agency to reassess its definition of affordability when it comes to drafting clean water regulations, the American Water Works Association said Wednesday. The U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Water Environment Federation joined AWWA in urging the agency to consider how wastewater and drinking water regulations drive up the price of water for households. The groups said in some communities, the cost of compliance could total several billion dollars.
